I've given up chocolate for Lent - that's big! But I try to make up for it in other sinful ways - that's bad! Pecan Sandies - that's a sinful way.
Stopped at the Wal last night to get some sin and there were NO PECAN SANDIES. There were Sandies w/cashews and Simply Sandies, but NO PECAN SANDIES.
I had heard a story 'round 'bout November that all the pecans in the States had been sold to China. The Church felt the price for what pecans there were was just too high, so they didn't sell 'em for a fundraiser.
Now I know-I'm just sure of it!...the Chinese bought all our pecans and we're left with SIMPLY SANDIES or CASHEW SANDIES.
Now this is really a free-market story. For whatever reason, the Chinese felt they wanted all our pecans; so they bought them. Our pecan growers had an opportunity to sell pecans, so they did.
And we're left w/Cashew Sandies -which aren't all THAT bad!
Sure would like some Pecan Sandies though!
